The Belgian-based company has moved into the former Prinsengracht hospital in Amsterdam.
This national monument has been completely transformed and now houses an elegant collection of offices, workspaces, conference rooms, event rooms and a restaurant where entrepreneurs and businesses can meet.
Fosbury & Sons Prinsengracht, the first international coworking center of Belgian origin, is housed in a huge and impressive 6,000 m² building.
A true icon, the building can accommodate more than 250 companies and entrepreneurs.
Among the first members, we already count the companies Blendle, Van Moof, Ticketswap, Ace & Tate, Top Notch, Tony Chocolonely, The Media Nanny and Temper.
"This is our first space outside the Belgian borders.
And moving it to Amsterdam, teeming with entrepreneurs, was a no-brainer.
In our quest, we met the owners of the building: MILLTEN (Foppe Eshuis & Lennart Rottier) and MILLION MONKEYS (Maarten Beucker).
We have agreed to establish a joint venture to operate what was formerly the Prinsengracht Hospital.
To be able to settle along the canal in this magnificent building steeped in history seems almost unreal to us.
So we treated it with great respect, also with the aim of making it a special place for Amsterdamers.
We are convinced that the Netherlands is ready to welcome our vision, namely elegant workspaces that combine professionalism and warmth. - Stijn Geeraets, co-founder Fosbury & Sons Art and design
The building that houses Fosbury & Sons Prinsengracht was designed by the designer duo from Going East.
The starting point was to restore the iconic building to its former glory and restore the grandeur of the old hospital within the building.
"We decided to put parquet floors in all the suites, in accordance with the old photos we had," says Anaïs Torfs of Going East.
We wanted to create a real Italian palace atmosphere on the bank of the canal.
This is how throughout the building we highlighted the magnificent arches and restored some of the old ceilings which were in a dilapidated state. "
This gives an interior of ubiquitous contrast: the old against the new, the classic against the modern, with details in a richly colored marble embellished with cotton fabrics and a vintage design.
Besides design, art also occupies a central place in the interior. In collaboration with the Grimm Gallery and The Ravestijn Gallery, the common areas have been decorated with modern art and photographs.
One can admire the hopping sculptures of the American artist Nick van Woert, entrusted to the Grimm Gallery, as well as the work of the photographer Koen Hauser (The Ravestijn Gallery), which offers a daring and contemporary representation of the still life.
Finally, Sarah Yu Zeebroek's tailor-made works give the whole thing a certain "Belgian touch".
Fosbury & Sons Café Aside from the elegant offices and conference rooms, members can also meet at the Fosbury & Sons Café.
This café-restaurant is 230 m2 and is located in the indoor covered garden of the complex.
Members can go there to taste special dishes as well as great international classics, homemade by our appointed chef.
Fosbury & Sons is also available through half-day (breakfast or snack included) or full-day (lunch included) subscriptions.
Prinsengracht Hospital The 19th century building that houses Fosbury & Sons Prinsengracht was known until 2014 as Prinsengracht Hospital.
Since 1994, the building has been one of the sites of the Onze Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis Hospital (OLVG) and has instead carried out a research function as a polyclinic.
The last beds disappeared in 1996 and the building ended up being sold to Million Monkeys and MILLTEN in 2014.
This monument underwent extensive renovations for five years under the direction of the promoter MILLTEN and in collaboration with the architect Roberto Meyer of the MVSA Architects office.
About Fosbury & Sons Fosbury & Sons Prinsengracht is the very first coworking space created by Fosbury & Sons outside of Belgium.
In 2016, Serge Hannecart, Stijn Geeraets and Maarten Van Gool founded Fosbury & Sons by taking on the mission of forever changing the office world according to the motto "not your ordinary office" (an office space like no other) .
After a first space in the WATT tower in Antwerp, Fosbury & Sons opened a huge 7,000 m2 site in Brussels in 2018, in a building emblematic of modernism designed by the Belgian-Polish architect Constantin Brodzki.
Two other sites were created in the summer of 2019 in two locations in Brussels.
Fosbury & Sons Prinsengracht is the first space that the Belgian company opens in the Netherlands.
A second site in the Amsterdam area of Westerdok is in full development and should open its doors at the end of this year. Additional sites should also be available very soon in Antwerp, Valencia, Ghent and La Haie.
Fosbury & Sons is truly the alternative to “gray” offices and a monotonous work mentality and offers its members, in addition to a pleasant working environment, complete autonomy, great flexibility and close contact with other entrepreneurs and businesses. , all in a beautiful conviviality.
The company is convinced of the importance of achieving a harmonious balance between professional and private life, so that it offers its members a professional workplace equipped with all the useful services to strengthen their quality of life (professional ).
Members benefit from all the comforts of a professional office space, combined with the warmth of a pretty living room, as well as the services and look of a hotel, without forgetting the fun that the one can find in his spare time.
Your friends and family are also welcome, for example to come have lunch with you or attend one of the many events organized.
All this illustrates perfectly that it is quite possible to combine private and professional life. |
