The National Park creates the "flagrant act of good gesture"!

To raise visitors' awareness of the problem of abandoned waste in the creeks, the National Park launches an awareness campaign to reward good deeds.
Any visitor who will be "caught" in the process of storing his remains of picnic in his bag or picking up the garbage that he will find on the paths will be recorded by the seasonal agents of the National Park on the list of the best visitors of the Calanques.
30 lots with a value of 68 euros are at stake.

Waste, scourge of Calanques during the high season

Remains of picnics, baby diapers, wipes ... the waste found in the National Park is numerous, especially in the middle of the tourist season.
In addition to the visual pollution they generate in the open space, litter is also a cause of death for wildlife, both terrestrial and marine.
Apart from its main gateways, the National Park is scarcely equipped with trash.
Wild site, difficult access, the creeks are not intended to be equipped more in the heart of the massif.
The cleanliness of the site depends on everyone and his commitment to bring back and sort what he brings during his visit.

Any abandonment of waste legally constitutes an offense punishable by a fine of 68 euros.
Any flagrant offense found by the National Park rangers is also the subject of a procedure.

Establishment of a "flagrant act of good gesture"!

The 40 seasonal workers mobilized this summer on the territory of the National Park of Calanques have for mission to welcome and to sensitize the visitors to the fragility of the site and to the good gestures to be adopted.
Their presence in the field complements the environmental policing missions provided throughout the year by the National Park rangers.
Awareness of the problem of waste is part of the daily messages issued by the seasonal patrols.
The device of the "flagrant act of good gesture" was designed to challenge and make visitors react.
Anyone caught in the process of picking up their trash to bring them back outside the National Park, or picking up other people's garbage, will be approached by the seasonal National Park.
The people will be registered on the register of the best visitors of the Calanques.

Thirty of them will be drawn by mid-September and will be given a lot worth 68 euros, the amount of the fine to which anyone exposed who would have abandoned a waste.
