Airport to open to travelers June 15, 2020
Resumption of commercial flights at Brussels South Charleroi Airport:
Charleroi, May 20, 2020 -
Brussels South Charleroi Airport announces the revival of its commercial activities from June 15, 2020.
In accordance with health recommendations and according to the new instructions relating to air travel provided by the airlines, various measures are put in place to guarantee the safety of staff and users of the airport.
In order to make a recovery in the best conditions, it is advisable to anticipate the different stages of your journey, from home to the plane.
This will allow, once at the airport, to limit contact and, as much as possible, to respect social distancing.
Brussels South Charleroi Airport would therefore like to remind travelers and their companions of the measures taken and give some advice on preparation.
Prepare your trip:
Preparing for your trip is an essential step that will ensure that everything goes smoothly.
It is recommended to make all reservations online, both for airline tickets on the airline website and for all airport services (http://www.brussels-charleroi-airport.com - Parking, Fast-Track, Lounge).
Once the payments have been made securely, the passenger receives a confirmation email resuming his reservation and various information relating to his product.
He is therefore invited to arrive at the airport with the vouchers received on his phone or in paper format.
When purchasing a plane ticket on the airline website, it is advisable to add all the desired options, such as adding checked baggage, priority to boarding, choice of seat, etc. Anticipating these points will limit the payment of overages at the airport and reduce the number of contacts with agents.
At the airport :
From June 15, 2020, the wearing of oral protection is mandatory within the airport.
Passengers may be accompanied, provided that the accompanying persons apply the sanitary measures.
Everyone must respect a safety distance between the people present in the terminal.
A large awareness campaign will also be rolled out at the airport to raise awareness of best practices to adopt.
Drop off or pick up someone is possible.
Card payments are recommended.
Please note, for travelers, that Parking P3 will not be available at the pick-up.
In order to access the Brussels South Charleroi Airport terminal, an initial check will be made in the airport security filter (the pre-check tent).
From this location, wearing a mask is compulsory.
The temperature of people wishing to enter the building will be taken by staff of the Belgian Red Cross. Anyone with a fever who shows signs of a possible infection will be seen by the medical team and asked to see a doctor.
Hydroalcoholic gel distribution devices will be available to passengers and other airport users upon entering the site and at various strategic locations within the infrastructure.
The registration procedure remains unchanged.
Some airlines have mandatory online check-in as part of their transportation policy.
Others leave the choice of checking in online or at the airport.
Under current conditions, online registration is preferred.
Travelers are asked to check in at home as much as possible and to report to the airport with their boarding pass in paper format or on their phone.
Baggage must then be checked in at the various check-in counters, upon presentation of the said check-in and a valid and valid identity document.
The registration conditions are listed on the airlines website.
Boarding and on board:
Social distancing will also apply at boarding gates.
A marking on the ground will indicate the distances to be respected.
All travelers will also be asked not to rush to the boarding gate when it begins but to be patient in order to maintain said distance between passengers.
Once on board, each airline applies a set of health measures.
These are listed on their website.
Travelers are therefore invited to read them before departure.
Arrival flights:
Pick up someone on arrival is possible.
Access to the terminal is authorized, provided that the sanitary measures are respected.
For travelers, it is compulsory to wear mouth and nose protection when getting off the plane at the exit of the terminal.
It is in everyone's interest to ensure that, as much as possible, a safety distance is maintained between people, especially at the baggage carousel.
Brussels South Charleroi Airport will encourage everyone to apply these provisions and will ensure proper compliance with sanitary measures.
