Welcome to the Historic Mining Center
from July 1st

From Wednesday, July 1, the Historic Mining Center will once again be able to welcome visitors to industrial buildings, exhibitions and galleries for the exploitation of coal!
All the sanitary measures are taken so that the public strolls on the whole site with confidence.
Large thematic exhibitions such as those devoted to the formation of coal, the history of the mining basin or the daily life of miners are installed in large spaces, as are the places of origin of the Delloye pit such as the hanged room, the lamp room or the compressor room.
As for the guided tour of the galleries, it has been somewhat adapted to comply with the rules of social distancing, but it is always one hour long and allows you to discover all the coal mining sites, from 18th century until the 1990s.

To better discover the exhibition spaces, game booklets for families are provided free of charge and are then taken away by the children.
The galibot workshops on Wednesday afternoon will be offered from mid-August.
For foreign visitors, audio guides are temporarily replaced in exhibitions by flash codes that allow content to be downloaded in six languages ​​from a personal smartphone.
As for the 1720 exhibition, coal at the heart of the revolutions devoted to the tercentenary of the discovery of coal in the North of France, it was extended until December 31, 2020.
However, the testimonial meetings with former miners will not be able to resume immediately, as will the accessorized Explora’mine visit.
In addition, as the Historic Mining Center covers eight hectares, many outdoor spaces allow visitors to walk around and enjoy a large picnic area installed under the trees.
The Le Briquet restaurant, located in the old pit sawmill, will be open from Saturday July 11 at noon.
The Mining History Center will be open from July 1 to 10 every day from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. (closing of the ticket office at 5 p.m.), then from Saturday July 11, every day from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (closing of the ticket office at 5:30 p.m.).
