A lot of news under the sun at MSC Cruises

MSC Cruises - which this weekend hosted the 20 millionth passenger on board maintains its course for growth and success.

Passengers from MSC Cruises, the world's largest privately-owned cruise line and leader in Europe, South America, South Africa and the Gulf, will experience an exciting autumn.

Beginning in November, they will be able to sail to an exclusive island paradise, while teenagers will be more pampered with many new activities on board.

New record: 20 millionth passenger on board

MSC Cruises celebrated a milestone in its history this past weekend, welcoming its 20 millionth passenger aboard MSC Seaside, based in Miami.
This step is an illustration of the expansion of the company, which began operating cruise ships in 2003, and quickly established itself as a major player in the industry.

New destination:
the private island Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve

The transformation of the unique island of Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in the Bahamas is taking shape.
MSC Cruises has entered the final phase of the work and will welcome the first guests in November 2019.
This private paradise island has undergone an impressive transformation from an old sand extraction to a thriving ecosystem for tourism and exploration.
To carry out this project, MSC Cruises collaborated with environmental experts from the Bahamas.
This new exclusive destination promises not only a 360 ° view of the ocean and beautiful beaches, but also offers an authentic exotic experience with typical bars and restaurants.

New environmental recognition:

Green Star 3 Design
MSC Cruises is strongly committed to providing a unique experience at sea and limiting its ecological and environmental impact.

In this context, the MSC Seaside received, in addition to the main rating classes, the "Green Star 3 Design" certificate issued by RINA.
The RINA Green Star 3 Award is the newest and most comprehensive of all Green Star classes.
It highlights the fact that the MSC Seaside achieves the highest levels of eco-compatibility through several innovative initiatives deployed on the ship to help reduce the environmental impact of the ship's operations.
This includes, among other things, an exhaust gas cleaning system, a high-performance wastewater treatment system, a device for preventing oil discharges from the engine room, a ballast water treatment system, and a ship environmental management plan.

New Entertainment: Activities and Web Series for Youth

With many new features for teenagers, MSC Cruises maintains its reputation as a bespoke cruise for the whole family.
From November on the MSC Grandiosa, the youth will be able to have fun with the MSC Dance Crew (a dance competition where 12-17 years old can show their talents), in the Drone Academy (a race where participants must cross 5 obstacles as quickly as possible) or with the Spy Mission (a spy mission on the ship with mysterious intrigues and exciting directions).
And a new web series, "Cabin 12006", specially designed for teenagers, will begin in 2020.

The series will have 7 episodes and was written in collaboration with Viacom, the media group behind Nickelodeon.
