Carrefour and Uber Eats strengthen their partnership

Monday July 27, 2020 - Four months after the start of their collaboration in France, Carrefour and Uber Eats are strengthening their ties by signing an exclusive agreement for the delivery of daily groceries outside Ile-de-France and announce the launch of this service in Belgium.

Uber Eats and Carrefour France: rapid deployment in the region

Since April 6, in Paris or the Paris region, consumers can do their food shopping on Uber Eats.
The two brands joined forces at the start of containment to help consumers stock up on everyday products, but also hygiene and cleaning products, by having them delivered to their homes in 30 minutes from around fifteen Carrefour stores.

Thanks to an ambitious development plan, the service was deployed in 100 stores at the end of April, then in 200 stores at the beginning of June, and in 300 stores at the beginning of July.
On July 20, the bar of 330 outlets deployed had been reached, allowing coverage of 91 urban areas, or 25% of the French population.

The assortment grows every week: from 130 references at launch, consumers now have access to more than 250 essential everyday products, with the aim of offering 500 products by the start of the school year.

The Carrefour Market and Carrefour City banners are present on the Uber Eats application and the deployment of the other formats of the Carrefour group is in preparation.

And now, an exclusivity in the Province Building on these promising results, Uber Eats and Carrefour have agreed on an exclusivity for the development of a shopping delivery offer throughout France, delivered in 30 minutes among the delivery applications of meals present today in France. Carrefour and Uber Eats remain free to operate their agreements reached in Ile-de-France with other players.A development that is also accelerating internationally

The partnership with Uber Eats is not limited to France: a first agreement had already been signed with Carrefour Taiwan at the end of 2019 with 8 covered cities and 38 preparer stores.

After France, Carrefour Belgium is now the third country to benefit from this partnership, which will be operational there from next September with a launch in Brussels and Liège.
Belgium will not only test a 30-minute grocery delivery offer but also meal solutions, thus making it possible to democratize access to ready-to-eat delivered at home, thanks to a varied, healthy and gourmet offer, at affordable prices, already established. in physical stores.

Other Carrefour Group countries will follow in the coming months.
