AN UNUSUAL DOUBLE EXPO
AT THE V IREUX TOURISM OFF ICE - WAL LERAND

The Val d´Ardenne tourist office sees double and will host from March 7 to May 02, 2020, a double photographic exhibition entitled "The Ardennes above below", proposed by Philippe Papier and Sébastien Bollich, two passionate artists.

Two names, two artists, two universes…

Sébastien Bollich and Philippe Papier, two photographers passionate about photography and above all from the Ardennes, combine their talent to offer you a unique and stunning exhibition.
They have carefully selected around forty of their most beautiful works, with the common desire to reveal all the splendor and authenticity of the natural heritage of the Ardennes, both for its remarkable landscapes today and for what it used to happen there, right under our feet.
“Photography allows me to reconcile both my love for nature and heritage with an artistic approach to the image. I'm looking for a light, an atmosphere, a staging like a painter ”
Indeed, for this duo exhibition, Philippe Papier wanted to present a series of photographs on the underground world of slate quarries and thus pay tribute to the hard work of the slate workers.
Passionate about the amazing universe of underground photography, Philippe PAPIER, spotted, explored and photographed, with the help of 2 friends, no less than 65 sites in three years.
But beyond heritage research, the approach remains above all the creation of artistic photographs through the installation of elaborate lighting and the inclusion of characters in certain images.
While taking care, during its explorations, to respect this exceptional nature, avoiding, for example, the periods of hibernation of bats.
"The Ardennes above Sébastien Bollich, meanwhile, wishes to defend and demonstrate, through his art, the beauty of the Ardennes landscapes too often forgotten by the inhabitants of the region or even overlooked by neighboring departments, France and elsewhere.

From March 07 to May 02 inclusive March: Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.,
Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. April / May: daily from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Making the Ardennes shine is the greatest pride and the main motivation of this passionate photographer and lover of his region, always seeking to freeze the moment, as close to the natural, in order to immortalize and above all release the emotions of each one. Unheard of in the Meuse valley!
A meeting with the artists is scheduled for Saturday, March 7 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the tourist office so that they can present their works and answer any questions.
Philippe Papier will also be present on Saturdays March 14 and 21 and on April 4 from 3 to 5 p.m.
The presence of his buddy, Sébastien Bollich at his side, remains to be confirmed.

I love nature and these mountainous settings.
I like to show or rediscover, through my photos, the exceptional heritage of our Ardennes.
