Denis Dupont against all odds at the arrival

of his first 24 Hours of Spa

Com-wheat! Denis Dupont was a driver just filled to be
at the finish of his first Total 24 Hours of Spa.

Like all the drivers in the 72 other crews, the Castelbrainois has had an exceptional experience in the Ardennes due to extreme weather conditions.

"With the thermometer curling at 40 degrees during testing, we had big problems finding the right operating range for the tires," commented the Ombra Racing driver.
"As a result, the qualifications were not ideal with an absolute 48th place and a 10th place finish in the Silver Cup.
But as always in Blancpain Endurance, the position on the grid is of little importance, especially at the 24 Hours of Spa. "

Unfortunately for Denis and his team-mates Dean Stoneman, Stefano Gattuso and Corey Lewis, the No. 12 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 had to make an extended pass in his box in the first hours of the race.
"We had a broken suspension, which cost us 15 minutes" Says the pilot of Braine-le-Chateau.
"It's a delay that we have never been able to fully fill as it was going strong ahead, both in Silver Cup and in other categories.
Aside from that, the Lamborghini worked really well and the team was insightful more than once to allow us to recover a U-turn or an entire lap.
The rest of the race went like a dream, which is pretty positive knowing that it was very easy to make a mistake with the changing track conditions. "

The 26-year-old Brabançon even had the honor of ensuring the end of the race to allow his team to cross the finish to an honorable 7th place in the Silver Cup and the 37th all categories.
"Without the counter-time we had at the start of the race, we would have fought for a podium finish in Silver.
But no matter what our final position, I am very happy for this first time at the 24 Hours of Spa.
We made a perfect copy on the track and I was very touched by the support I received from my family, Belgian supporters, but also journalists and the media team of SRO.

Lots of memories jostle in my head. "
